Colegio Franco Inglés
Institutional Resilience, Architectural Memory and Educational Infrastructure
Colegio Franco Inglés is part of an educational history deeply connected to the formation of generations in Mexico. Throughout its trajectory, it has consolidated an identity based on integral education, a sense of community, service and human responsibility. Its infrastructure not only houses spaces for learning, but also the living memory of an institution that has accompanied generations of students.
The commission consisted of carrying out an updated survey of the school’s topography and infrastructure, based on historical hand-drawn plans that for decades had preserved the architectural memory of the institution. These documents, more than simple plans, were a relic: evidence of time, of the school’s growth and of the need to translate that information into contemporary technical tools.
Over several months, a process of measurement, documentation, digitization, modeling and architectural visualization was developed to generate updated plans and precise representations of the existing infrastructure. The objective was to provide the school with reliable, clear and technically solid information to support maintenance processes, future planning and institutional decision-making.
This work represents a different way of understanding resilience: not only as a response to an emergency, but as the capacity of an institution to know itself, document itself, protect itself and prepare for the future.
In an educational community with more than a century of history, updating the physical memory of the campus is also a way of caring for its legacy.
